The Saga Continues … On October 20th

Wyldling Snare Ebook FREE October 6th & 7th!

Yes, you read that correctly. The Wyldling Snare ebook will be FREE to download at the end of this week for two days only in celebration of Wyldling Trials coming out on October 20th. Unless you have a subscription to Kindle Unlimited, in which case you can read Wyldling Snare for free at any time. This is your chance to get book one if you don’t have Kindle Unlimited and you’ve been on the fence about purchasing it.

With regards to the release date, I know I’ve been saying the 8th, so please forgive me if the later date disappoints you. October 8th was my stretch goal. Plus, I thought it would be cool to release it on World Octopus Day. While Wyldling Trials is formatted now and ready for publication, I’m giving my wonderful ARC readers time to finish the book before it’s officially released.

Wyldling Snare tells of Enoch’s tribulations as an inexperienced Baron-Knight. Wyldling Trials focuses on Annabelle’s struggles as an Earth girl trying to figure out her place in an alien world. But don’t worry—you find out what’s going on with Enoch, as well, even though he isn’t the leading voice in the narrative.

I also put book three of the Wyldling Dream series, Wyldling Armor, up for preorder. Right now it says the release date is September 30, 2024, but that will change. This one I definitely would like to release on World Octopus Day, if only because there are actual octopi – octopuses, octopodes, however you like to pluralize it – in the story. The cover displayed on Amazon is not the final cover, it’s simply a placeholder until the final cover is made and I’m ready to reveal it.

Character art for Wyldling Armor “mock-up” cover

For those wondering about the intense-looking red-haired man on the cover … well, you’ll just have to read the first two books and then make an educated guess as to his identity. Or if you’re not fond of mysteries, the book description at least gives you a name. I’ll tell you up front that the red-haired guy was a supporting character in both Wyldling Snare and Wyldling Trials, but now will take center stage as the lead point of view in Wyldling Armor.

Until Wyldling Trials comes out, I have some book recommendations to tide you over.

Black Bane by Zee Kelley

A Keystone Prophecy Story

A quest to stop the black bane.

An adventure unfolds in this epic fantasy short story of wondrous creatures, clashing cultures, a mysterious evil force, and four distinct races fighting against an unknown enemy determined to destroy them all.

During the previous full moon, the ancient salvus trees prepared to display their fall colors and stood sentry over the Florix tribes who lived in the branches below. But, as fast as storm clouds rolling in, a fatal black sludge attacked the plant life, poisoned the water, and left the forest people sick and dying. Painful black boils appeared on farmers’ and herb-gatherers’ hands and arms, and in mere days the killing disease spread to entire families. Within a month, the bane decimated entire villages. Nothing would stop the spread of death. Not even their healer’s magic.

Clean Fantasy Romance Out TODAY:

The Shadow Elf’s Mission by Elisa Rae

Favian lives torn between two worlds. As a shadow elf, he serves Eldarlan as a warrior in the spymaster’s ranks. All the while, evidence of his gargoyle blood remains hidden beneath a spell. Despite this, he is content in the life he has chosen until one day, he spots his fated mate, but she is out of his reach in more ways than one. Years pass before he is offered the opportunity to actually meet her, but she isn’t who he thought she was.

Cersei has spent her life hiding in plain sight as the companion of an oligarch’s daughter. By blending in and not calling attention to herself, she has avoided the fate that took her father’s life. Then, political factions change, tensions rise, and her employer and his family are in danger. To make matters worse, the elven bodyguard they hired for protection won’t stop challenging her perceptions of those around her.

The Shadow Elf’s Mission is a light, fantasy romance novella about a romance between an elven/gargoyle and an elven/human woman. It features a fated mates romance where cultures clash when they encounter peril.

If you’re like me, and prefer to start series from the beginning:

The Elven Spymaster’s Thief by Elisa Rae

In a world full of elves, woodwose, gargoyles, and brownies among others, humans can’t help crossing paths with all of the magical species. Well, everyone except Avril. She manages to avoid all elves. Then one day, her master orders her to steal a dagger from the very elf she wishes to evade most, the elven spymaster of Eldarlan. Bound by her indenture, she has no choice but to obey. She plans a swift sneak-and-grab mission, but things go awry.

Illeron knows more than any elf should. The gathering, analyzing, and disseminating of information consumes his life to the point his brother suggests he needs a distraction. So, when a human woman breaks into his study to steal his dagger, he seizes the opportunity and offers her a bargain she can’t refuse. And a fate he never imagined.

The Elven Spymaster’s Thief is a light, fantasy romance novella full of banter, flirting, and fun romantic moments. It features an opposites-attract romance between a human girl and an attractive elf lord with a bit of a culture clash thrown in for fun.

What I’m Reading

Now that Wyldling Trials is poised to release into the wild, I have a bit more free time to actually read for pleasure. My TBR list has grown exponentially, so it’s time I whittled it down a peg. A bit? Not sure how that idiom works, honestly. Curse this devil’s language! I’m channeling Raeden today, apparently. Anywho …

The Witch’s Curse by J.F. Rogers

Since I’ve finished The King’s Curse, I’ve been looking forward to the sequel’s release … and now it’s out! I just downloaded it to my Kindle last night, so it’s next on my TBR list. I’m all fired up and ready to go on another adventure with Colleen!

If you enjoy portal fantasy with Christian themes, loveable characters, and mischievous dragons, then you’ll love the Cursed Lands series. J.F. Rogers is one of my favorite authors. You should check out her Ariboslia series, too. I’m so glad there are Christians, like me, out there who love spinning tales in a fantasy setting.

Have you read Wyldling Snare?

A knight’s first duty is to his realm. When another world calls, will he answer? The wrong choice might destroy all he loves.

Apprentice knight Enoch Northward isn’t ready to lead. But when he returns home to find his mentor dead and the heir-apparent missing, he knows he must rise to the challenge.

But the horrifying truth of his guardian’s death and disappearance of his friends leaves the grieving knight with no time to mourn. In search of answers, he ventures into the forbidden forest. There he discovers a portal leading to another world – and a girl who shares his faith and dreams.

The realm hangs in the balance as a mysterious enemy schemes to destroy it, but not all peril comes from the outside. Enoch himself harbors a secret that could destroy all he loves…

Obligatory Cat Photo

No, I did not acquire a tiger. This is a photo I took at the Milwaukee County Zoo.

Technically, it’s still a photograph of a cat, albeit a very big one.

That’s all for now! Have a wonderful week!
