First, the abject apology for being woefully behind on my deliverables. It’s already November, and I’m afraid I don’t have much to show with regards to progress on book four of the Wyldling Dream series. My plan was to have Wyldling Blood published by now. However: “the best-laid schemes o’ mice an’ men gang aft agley,” as the poet Robert Burns once penned. That quote has become my own personal tagline for the year. Can’t you just see that on a T-shirt?
Anyway, I’m not sure exactly when book four will be out ever since my writing time has been usurped by “tired brain recovering from the day job” time. I’m seriously considering a Writer’s Retreat next spring – maybe even sooner. But enough excuses. I believe I have all the complex, knotty plot issues worked out now. The new plan is to publish Wyldling Blood before the end of 2026.

No Book Four Yet, But At Least Sun Prairie Has An Indie Bookstore
My hometown of Sun Prairie was lately blessed with a new bookstore – Prairie Pages. I visited this past Sunday with my husband and we both purchased books. My choices were The Awakening of Gods by Morgan Kielisch (hailing from Cottage Grove, a near neighbor) and Cat Dragon by Samantha Birch (from across The Pond).
Cat Dragon is a delightful standalone, and I’m looking forward to digging into The Astrellian Heirs saga.
The co-owners, Erin and her husband James Daniels – yeah, that James Daniels of Miami Dolphins fame – have satisfied the yearning (in my heart, at least) for this genre of business in Sun Prairie. If you’d like to know more, my friend Michael Popke wrote an article about Prairie Pages for the Isthmus. Or stop in and check it out, if you happen to be in the area.
So, not only do I now have an awesome new book shop within walking distance, but it’s an establishment friendly to indie authors … like yours truly! I’m still all a-twitter with excitement that the Wyldling Dream series has found a home at Prairie Pages.
