Searching for a Short Story?

Darn right, stories matter!

For those who find the prospect of reading (or writing) an entire book daunting… may I suggest a short story instead? They’re great for when you have about an hour to kill in between tasks or while you’re waiting for the laundry to finish. I’ve heard a short story described as a work of fiction you can read within one sitting. Short stories can range anywhere between 1,000 and 10,000 words. That’s roughly four to forty pages of a standard-sized book, in case you’re wondering.

Are you looking for some good short stories to read? If so, then I have a recommendation: a nice little slice of life gem entitled “Closing Time,” by author Lawrence Henry. It’s a good read! You’ll also find his blog, more short fiction, and information about his works in progress on his website. Well, what are you waiting for? Go check it out.
