What’s Behind?
Last month I was selling books in Kenosha for the Fifth Chapter of the Kenosha Book Festival and it occurred to me that I needed to take a photo of my table. As you can see, I was set up beside my friend and fellow author, Huckleberry Rahr, which is the usual state of affairs.
I also recently participated in a book pop up at Noble Knight Games, a truly excellent establishment with dragon figurines … and all sorts of games, of course. The event was organized by Nerd Made -Madison, and they are delightful. I may not be a social butterfly, but I enjoy meeting other local artists. Yes, that is me sitting at my table. I really do look like that.
In July I accompanied my husband on a trip to Okinawa, Japan. An enjoyable experience and one I hope to repeat in a few years (God-willing). Visiting Okinawa reminded me of being in Florida, in case you were wondering what the weather is like. Despite the heat and humidity, it’s a beautiful place and there is so much to see. Unfortunately, I did not see as many dragons in Okinawa as I might have wished. Shisa statuary are more prevalent in Okinawan culture, so I switched gears and sought those out, instead. I took many pictures of the guardian statues. Hand’s down, the Shisa were my favorite part of the trip! I might have a story in the works featuring these lion-like dogs. Stay tuned!

Thanks for letting me know! I believe I have fixed the issue. As of the moment, I only have one more event scheduled this year. It’s the Eastside Lutheran Craft Fair in Madison on November 1st.
