Season’s Greetings!

My friend, I hope you and yours have a wonderful holiday. What are your plans for Christmas? Having a gut-busting meal with your family? Trust me… it’s okay to not have anything special lined up. If you’re just hanging out at home, that’s a plan I can get behind. As for me and mine, we’re braving the below zero wind chill to visit family out of town. But don’t worry; we’re Wisconsinites. Despite our complaints, we can handle a bit of cold and blowing snow.

Do you have Christmas traditions? If so, what are they? How did they start? There’s usually a heart-warming or funny story behind Christmas traditions.

Amid all the chaos of consumerism, meal preparation, and family obligations, it’s easy to forget the reason for the season. For Christians, that reason is the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. For those who ascribe to other faiths or none at all, Christmas could mean a time to gather with family, friends, enjoy the company of loved ones, and exchange gifts. Whatever your traditions, remember to carve some time out for yourself to relax, recuperate, and count blessings.

Enjoy your day!

A giant soot panther attended the nativity of Jesus Christ?
By the way, the wise men didn’t show up until AFTER Christmas, and we don’t know how many of them actually visited Jesus. Three is assumed because they gave him three gifts – gold, myrrh, and frankincense.

This time of year can be stressful and depressing for some folks. Not everyone is having a “merry” Christmas. Often, we force ourselves to put on a cheerful grin and holler out well wishes… because we’ve been told that it’s the most wonderful time of the year. We’re supposed to be happy and act jolly, right?

You don’t have to pretend for me. I understand.

Wow. I did not mean to go down such a dark tunnel of despair. I’m okay; really, I am! Even if I’m not deliriously happy, I still have my joy. God has blessed me in so many ways. I can appreciate that, no matter the mood I’m experiencing at the moment.

Need a last minute Christmas gift?

In honor of the season, I just began reading A Soul As Cold As Frost by Jennifer Kropf. So far, I’m loving it! Next time I write to you, I’ll have a few books to recommend.

In the meantime, have a blessed Christmas and peaceful holiday!
